Five weeks post-op

It's been five weeks since I made the toughest decision of my life. I know it was a drastic decision but, it was the best decision for me. I'm finally feeling so much better. Finally get to eat some "regular" foods even if it's just a small amount.
I've lost 30 lbs as off last Wednesday and I can totally feel the difference on my knees, which makes this whole decision so much worth it. I love the way I feel! I love the way I look! I love the NEW ME!

Hurry up and wait

I talked with the girls at my Dr's office today. I'm excited that the pre-surgery packet was ready went out today. Now we need the insurance to formally approve my surgery. I'm so excited and can't wait to get my surgery date. I've started cutting down on my meals and making sme changes in my eating habits. For example, I've started to eat less, using a measuring cup to serve my portions and not eating between meals. I know that after my surgery I will be be on a very low caloric diet. But right now I'm having a hard time between meals. I'm SO hungry! Also today I started swimming again. Went to the gym with my other half and swam a mile! The first 10 laps (500 meters) was the hardest. I truly do love to swim but it's hard sometimes to make my self get there. While in the pool today, I was wondering when I will be able to start swimming again after my surgery. I'm worried about infection on my incisions. Note to self.... Must ask Dr. Feiz about that. Hopefully I will have a surgery date soon. Fingers crossed!

I'M WORTH IT!!

Today I met with Larry at Dr. Feiz's office. We discussed the pro's and con's of weight loss surgery. After listening to him discuss both the Lao-Band and the Gastic Sleeve, I decided the Gastic sleeve was the right choice for me. It's more invasive of a procedure but it has better success rates in the long term. Also less complications also long term. Now the next step is to get my insurance to approve! Patience..... I need lots of patience!

Lap-Band

I'm having trouble sleeping tonight... Tomorrow is my appointment with Dr. Feiz for my Lap-Band consultation. I'm scared and excited. These past few days have been a reality check about my weight. Went to the movies and had a hard time fitting in between the arm rests, my knees ache even when laying down and every single piece of clothing fits snug. The snug part I've gotten used to but, my knees can't hold my weight any longer. I'm afraid I will ruin them for good. I was cleaning out a drawer a few days ago and I pulled out a bunch of clothes from 10-12 years ago... Thank god I did not toss them yet, I'm keeping a pair of work out pants as my motivation for the new me. First step!

Day 1

Dragged my self to the gym today. I hate it when this happens. I skipped the gym for 2.5 weeks and now it's hard to get there. My 8 weeks straight down the drain. Back to day 1 ;(

RIP Steve Jobs

There might be many smart phones and many new smart pads but, the one that started it all was Steve Jobs. The iPhone and the iPad changed the way we use technology. Thank you Steve for all the innovation and for changing my life. Rest in peace.
